The Victim Rights Law Center provides free, comprehensive legal services for sexual assault victims with legal issues in Massachusetts and Oregon in the areas of privacy, safety, housing, education, employment, immigration, LGBTQ-specific issues, criminal justice advocacy, and financial stability. The Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) was founded in 2000 as an innovative project of a rape crisis center in order to fill a critical void in services for sexual assault victims, and launched as a separate 501(c)(3) in 2003.
The VRLC’s mission is to provide legal representation to victims of rape and sexual assault to help rebuild their lives; and to promote a national movement committed to seeking justice for every rape and sexual assault victim.
The VRLC is the first nonprofit law center in the country solely dedicated to serving the critical legal needs of sexual assault victims. The VRLC provides free, trauma-informed civil legal services to rape and sexual assault survivors throughout Massachusetts and in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties, Oregon in the areas of privacy, safety, immigration, housing, education, employment and financial stability to help rebuild victims’ lives following sexual violence.
The VRLC maintains a vibrant pro bono program in both Oregon and Massachusetts. VRLC staff attorneys recruit, train, and mentor volunteer attorneys in order to leverage local resources to help represent an ever-increasing number of sexual assault victims. Private attorneys appreciate the opportunity to use their expertise to volunteer in their community through an effective and efficient program.
The VRLC works with community partners, volunteers, and survivors to lead a new response to sexual violence.

The Music
The Roadless Travelers plays vintage rock and blues songs, mainly from 1958 through 1990, including heaps of your favorites and other choice gems. Featuring members of Monterey Purple, Brothers of the Baladi, and other Portland bands, the Roadless Travelers will play to your heart and kickstart your feet! Bring your dancing shoes – expect great grooves and a funky good time! The Roadless Travelers are Michael Beach-drums/vocals, William Chapin-guitar/vocals, Phil Garfinkel-guitar/vocals, and Chris Petryszak-bass/vocals.
The Wedgies is Clark Salisbury on guitar and vocals, ‘Gunga’ Dave Stenson on bass and vocals, and Fred Ingram on drums. Though short lived (the band was together for little more than a year in the early ’00s) they produced several albums worth of original material, drawing from a diverse range of influences: R&B, country music, Brit-pop, American pop, Alt, plain old rock, and so on. The Wedgies are jazzed to dust off a few of the best songs from that nearly 20-year-old songbook and give ’em one more spin around the dance floor – hope you can join us!
