Like the Ohio to muddy Ol’ Miss, Ashleigh Flynn follows her troubadour heart. Flynn’s latest studio effort, A Million Stars, on her own Home Perm Records, represents true blue Americana featuring stories of important pioneering women that history has largely overlooked. It is produced by Chris Funk, her longtime friend and musical collaborator, best-known as the Decemberists’ multi-instrumentalist. The record features Todd Snider and many of Portland’s most talented musicians including, Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee-Drizos, Nate Query, John Moen, Annalisa Tornfelt, and the Stolen Sweets singers, among others.

This past year, Fleeing Ghosts Records out of LA invited Ashleigh to contribute to an Emmylou Harris tribute CD, released in June by, called simply, to Emmylou; with proceeds donated to her dog rescue called Bonaparte’s Retreat. Flynn’s rendition of Red Dirt Girl received recognition is several highly reputable Americana music periodicals: Rolling Stone; Elmore; & Country Standard Time.
